Warriors rookie big man Jeremy Tyler is headed to the NBA Development League.

A team source confirmed the Yahoo! Sports report that Golden State is planning to send Tyler to the Dakota Wizards, the Warriors’ D-League team, to start the second half of the season.

Tyler has appeared in 14 games, averaging 1.9 points and 1.0 rebounds in 4.6 minutes. He last played Feb. 17 at Oklahoma City, when he totaled eight points and three rebounds in nine minutes.

The move will be announced Monday, the team source.

1.9points, 1.0 rebound, in 4.6 minutes? Biedrins wishes he could put up numbers like that. Get a clue Joe Lacob!

  2. Will Says:

it’s probably for the better. Jeremy Tyler was the epitome of raw due to lack of college experience.

  3. deano Says:

It’s about time. Tyler’s immature decision to drop-out of high school has put him two to three years behind his age group in terms of basketball experience and knowledge. The kid just needs to play against quality US competition. I think that the DLeague will be great for him, and that he will finish out the year playing significant minutes in Oakland.

  4. Harp's Dubs Says:

Good move by the Warriors. Now, we better not waive him to pursue a free agent we’re not going to get! We can only do that to one Jeremy, right?!?

  5. Niners in 2012 Says:

Biedrins is the one who needs to be demoted.

  6. joe Says:

There are millions of reasons to NOT demote Biedrins, 9 million to be exact.

  7. zeelurker Says:

Agree with Deanno – What took them so long? He struggled against competition in both Israel and Japan, what made them think he’d improve sitting and watching games on the Warriors bench?

  8. Niners in 2012 Says:

Biedrins is gonna suck and make $27M whether we cut him, punch him, demote him, put him down, kick him. He sucks and should have been amnestied. I will never get over this horrific decision.

  9. marc Says:

    Well said Niners

  10. Yoda Says:

Hopefully Tyler will get ten games or so under his belt and come back after the Warriors blow up this excrescence and start over.
