UPDATED: Andrew Bogut (strained right calf) starts for Warriors

Warriors center Andrew Bogut strained his right calf during the second half of Thursday’s win over the Miami Heat but he still started Friday’s game against the Atlanta Hawks.

Bogut checked out of the game with 7:03 left in the third quarter against Miami and never returned. Jackson said Bogut was going through his normal pregame workout before Friday’s game against the Atlanta Hawks and he would meet with him afterwards to discuss his status. That apparently checked out well enough for him to play.

Bogut has played in 33 of the Warriors’ 34 games this year, missing one due to a suspension. It’s the most games he’s played in since the 2010-11 season after dealing with multiple injuries.

Jackson said he hasn’t had to monitor Bogut’s status at all this year up to this point.

“There’s no restraints on him,” Jackson said. “He’s playing at a high level. He’s an anchor to our defense.”

Warriors looked tired tonight but still pulled it out. Bench is getting a lot of playing time this road trip which is great, but this game they gave the starters a hole to dig themselves out of. Sorry to harp on Bazemore but who gave him the green light to take the last shot of quarters where Curry, KT or Iggy isn’t on the floor? He seems to take contested threes, or drives and looks off open players. He needs to just focus on good D and distributing the ball instead of “getting his”. Less threes and more taking it to the rack as it is his strength.
I’m becoming happy with T.Doug’s play lately, even though he isn’t shooting at the clip of everyone else, he is still doing a much better job than the start of the season.
However the best bench player of the year is clearly Green. Kills it on D every time, against 1 thru 5 players, Much improved jumper and seems to hit them early and late in games. I think they should play a lot more of him at the small ball 4. Just make sure he isn’t driving and jumping to pass all the time ok? ;)
