Police search for ‘Basketball Burglar’ who stole jerseys from Santa Cruz Warriors

Santa Cruz Warriors guard Cameron Jones, a Golden State Warriors training camp invitee, helped spread the word that someone had not only stolen practice jerseys from the team at Kaiser Permanente Arena but worn one while being caught on camera.

“Help us nab the crook who’s stealing our practice gear and dri fits,” Jones posted on Instagram, adding laughing with tears emoticons and the Santa Cruz Police’s phone number.

Yes, someone swiped Santa Cruz Warriors gear from Golden State’s NBA Development League affilitate, and Santa Cruz Police is ridiculing the suspect for sloppily breaking in and swiping a rolling duffel bag with the team’s shirts, shoes and shorts along with cash from the concession area of the arena.

“He’s even looking up like he is getting dunked on in this photo,” read a blog post from Santa Cruz Police in identifying 38-year-old Jeffrey Blan in the photo and was searching for him after obtaining a warrant for his arrest.

“Here is your chance to increase your ‘assist’ stats and help us locate him.”

When he is in the lineup he isn’t always there. . .
