North Carolina’s James Michael McAdoo to join Warriors’ summer league team

North Carolina forward James Michael McAdoo, one of the top prospects to go undrafted, has agreed to play for the Warriors’ NBA Summer League team in Las Vegas, his agent, Jim Tanner, confirmed Friday.

The 6-foot-9 McAdoo left North Carolina for the draft after averaging 14.2 points and 6.8 rebounds in his junior season. He previously played with current Warriors forward Harrison Barnes while with the Tar Heels.

A McDonald’s All-American coming out of high school, McAdoo was projected as a lottery pick after his freshman season at North Carolina and chose to stay in school two more years.

He’s second cousin of HOF and great,Bob McAdoo. That’s fine genetics at work.

I wondered what happened to him. Did he have an injury, because when I saw him play a couple of years ago with Barnes, he looked awfully promising (raw as a freshman but a lot of talent).

let’s hope his energy level and court awareness, at least, are way more than his former teammate, barnes. barnes looks like a deer in the headlights. we don’t need another one of those!

Didn’t work for Glen Rice’s kid or Glenn Robinson III; or Jerry Rice’s or Joe Montana’s kids. . .so that is meaningless. . .no guarantee of success. . .must mean something that he has fallen so far in two years. . .hopefully he can rekindle his success as a Warrior. . .

Why are you being so negative Howard?.lol.

On the other hand, it more than paid off with Dell’s kid, Mychel’s kid and Cal Sr.’s kid. Plus, just statistically speaking, a number of successful NBA players were undoubtedly fathered by Shawn Kemp without us knowing about it.

LOL. . .I’m the eternal pragmatic, Stan. . .thought you knew that by now. . .
