MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Warriors rookie Kevon Looney has been inactive for 14 of the past 15 games while waiting to see what is wrong with his troublesome right hip.

Looney underwent an MRI exam last week that was inconclusive and is seeing several doctors regarding the hip injury, according to the team. He underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum in the same hip in August.

“Real nervous,” Looney said. “It’s been terrible playing this waiting game. We just want to know the answer.”

Looney, who has played in five games for the Warriors and 12 games for Santa Cruz, said he has been relegated to doing rehab work.

“It’s getting better,” the Warriors’ first-round draft pick said of the inflammation. “I’m seeing a couple doctors. They didn’t seem too worried. It’s just some inflammation. I’m doing rehab, taking my time.”
