Richmond on Thursday dedicated its project linking the downtown BART station and transit village residential/retail area to the nearby Social Security building and Kaiser Medical Center.
Work includes installation of new pedestrian lighting, landscaping, Class II bike lanes,
and directional signs on Nevin Avenue from Marina Way west to
Harbour Way , along with a redesign of Nevin Plaza that includes making it more visible, safer and inviting to pedestrians and cyclists, officials said.
Almost all of the $1.1 million project cost was covered by a federal transportation grant made through the Metropolitan Transportation Commission.
More details to come in the West County Times next week.
