No injuries reported as crews extinguish dryer fire in El Cerrito

The scene on Albermarle Street in El Cerrito as firefighters ventilate the back of a home filled with smoke from a dryer that caught fire.

EL CERRITO — Firefighters quickly knocked down an early afternoon residential fire Nov. 24 on Albermarle Street. The report below is courtesy of Battalion Chief Dave Gibson, the photos are courtesy of Kevin Berndt.

 

At 12:31 PM units from El Cerrito Fire and Richmond Fire responded to a reported structure fire at 706 Albemarle Street. The first unit on scene reported light smoke showing from the rear of the residence. Two residents were home at the time of the fire and had exited the residence. The fire was located in a back room in an electric dryer. The fire was quickly extinguished and the interior smoke was quickly removed. The fire was contained to the dryer unit. El Cerrito PD was called to assist with traffic control. There were no reported injuries to the occupants or fire personnel.
